An Iowa man has been charged with first-degree murder and robbery in Kossuth County Court. 

              The Des Moines Register reports, 35-year old                      Valentino Williams of Coralville is accused of                      shooting a bank employee in Lu Verne                                  yesterday  morning.

Forty-three-year old, Jessica Weishaar of Algona died at the scene she was walking outside of the bank when she was shot and killed.

Williams was apprehended about an hour later.

Nearly 800 Nebraska State Penitentiary inmates more than half the Lincoln prison’s population have signed a petition sent to state officials and various news outlets decrying conditions at the prison.

The petition is critical of penitentiary administrators for putting the prison in modified lockdown, which has curtailed clubs or organization meetings and kept inmates from having full use of the prison law library.

And, a USD law student is suing a state Senator from South Dakota saying the lawmaker violated his constitutional rights by blocking him from the lawmaker's public Facebook page.

Jeff Church alleges Stace Nelson is denying his right to free speech and his right to petition government by preventing him from participating in a public forum.

The two exchanged comments on the Facebook page after Church was critical of Nelson and his politics.

Nelson says Church isn't entitled to post lies and propaganda on the page along with his views supporting Socialists. Nelson is retiring from the Senate effective next week.
