Holiday Parade Lights Up Downtown Sioux City

SIOUX CITY, IA - NOVEMBER 25, 2019
Siouxland Public Media

A big crowd packed downtown Sioux City for a festive event last night.

The Holiday Lighted Parade showcased dozens of brightly decked out floats and characters.

For many,  it’s an annual tradition;  including one mother who shared her thoughts with Siouxland Public Media along the parade route on Fourth Street.

“I think I came maybe seven or eight different years and this is the busiest year I have ever seen.  Who did you bring with you this year?  Bodie is almost three and he’s energetic and the candy isn’t helping.”

That’s Corriene McKeown of Sioux City.

The parade sponsored by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 231, ended with an appearance from Saint Nick.

“3-2-1, Yeah!"

Santa then lit the community Christmas Tree in front of the Sioux City Public Museum before heading back to the North Pole to escape our incoming winter storm!
