Flight 232 Medical Miracles
Many heroic actions emerged from the crash of Flight 232, including medical professionals on the ground in Sioux City.
The most critical patients ended up at Mercy Hospital. That’s where neurosurgeon Dr. Quentin Durward was waiting in the ER listening to the tragedy play out.
The New Zealand native shares his insight with Siouxland Public Media’s Sheila Brummer.
He talks about tense moments in the ER, the flight attendant who survived against the odds, the man who didn't make it and the others he credits with providing the best outcome possible for those who survived the crash landing of Flight 232.
