New Commander at the 185th Refueling Wing Updates Congressman King
Congressman Steve King visited the 185th Air Refueling Wing and new commander Colonel Mark Muckey on Monday afternoon.
“It’s an opportunity to give him an update on the things we have going on. What we are supporting around the globe and give him an update and a strategic thought on where the 185th Refueling Wing is headed in the future.”
Colonel Muckey took over for outgoing commander Colonel Larry Christenson at a “change of command” ceremony in March.
The 185th Refueling Wing recently returned from a medical mission providing free care to people in Puerto Rico. A civil engineering team is currently working on a new school for the U.S. territory. Plus, the refueling wing is constantly flying missions to the Middle East.
Next month, the 185th Refueling Wing will hold a grand opening on a new building for the unit’s medical clinic, communications and food services.
