After a bit of scoffing for presenting himself as the hero who defeated the philistines in Ein Heldenleben​, Strauss took on a decidedly more modest, though arguably more complex, subject for his next grand work, the Sinfonia Domestica​. We hear a day in the life of the Strauss household, Mama, Papa, and Bubi. The Minnesota Orchestra performs under the baton of Edo de Waart.
