Right now, panel, time for you to answer some questions about the week's news. Adam, three would-be jihadis were arrested in New York this week for plotting attacks here in the U.S. One of them wanted to go to Syria to join ISIS but could not. Why not?
ADAM FELBER: He had finals to study for.
(LAUGHTER)
SAGAL: Not far off in sense of him being a rather young person.
FELBER: Didn't have a driver's license.
SAGAL: No.
FELBER: He couldn't travel alone? I'm looking for a hint here.
SAGAL: Well, it's like, you know, she wouldn't sign the permission slip for the field trip.
FELBER: Oh, his parents wouldn't let him go.
SAGAL: Exactly. His mother wouldn't let him go.
(SOUNDBITE OF BELL)
SAGAL: The three men were arrested in Brooklyn, accused of trying to join ISIS. Their attorneys insist the men are innocent, but not because they're loyal Americans, but because they're too pathetic to be terrorists. It's true. That's basically the defense. One of these guys called his mom. This is true. It's in the indictment. And he said I'd like my passport. And she says, why? He says, no reason. You're going to go join ISIS, aren't you? She hangs up on him. By the way, all mothers are Jewish, even the mothers of Jihadis.
FELBER: Fine. Fine. Go play with ISIS. I'll just sit here in the dark and worry.
SAGAL: And he's like oh. You never let me spread any terror.
FELBER: Oh Mr. big shot suicide bomber, how come you never call?
(LAUGHTER)
SAGAL: We were thinking like if this one mom was able to stop this guy from going to, you know, the Middle East and spreading terror, this is how we defeat ISIS. We don't send more airstrikes or Special Forces, we send in a team of moms.
FELBER: With megaphones.
SAGAL: With megaphones.
FELBER: I'm very disappointed in you.
SAGAL: Yes.
(LAUGHTER)
SAGAL: How could you do this to me? Like the Delta Moms or Seal Team MILF.
(LAUGHTER)
FELBER: You've made your sister cry.
(LAUGHTER)
BRIAN BABYLON: You know what? I think I've seen Seal Team MILF.
(LAUGHTER)
BABYLON: I think I've seen that.
