The City of Sioux City is taking a pause in the quest of hiring a new city manager.

Mike Collett will continue in his role until the Fiscal Year 2027 budget process is complete. The budget process starts in the fall and ends in the spring.

In a press release, Mayor Bob Scott said, “Mike has shown outstanding leadership during this transition, and his guidance provides important stability as we move into planning the budget.”

Additionally, City Finance Director Teresa Fitch will take on added responsibilities as Interim Assistant City Manager.

Finalist Craig Clark withdrew his application for city manager in August.
