About Dr. Rod Earleywine
Earleywine started as Interim Superintendent of Schools for the Sioux City Community School District on July 1st, 2022, overseeing 15,000 students and 2,500 teachers and staff. After graduating from Drake University in 1982, he worked as a teacher and coach. Toward the end of his 12-year tenure with the West Sioux School District in Hawarden, Iowa, he pursued higher degrees in educational administration with a master’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa and a doctorate from the University of South Dakota. He reached a personal goal of serving as a middle school principal for the River Valley School District in Correctionville, Iowa. After one year, he moved into a similar role with the Sergeant Bluff-Luton School District. He spent the past 15 years of his 27 years in Sergeant Bluff as superintendent.
