MARCH FOR OUR LIVES: Sioux City Students Advocate for Safer Schools

Students at East High School in Sioux City work to bring awareness and action against gun violence in the school and community. Siouxland Public Media intern Carolyn Lien, who is a senior at East High School talked to one of her classmates, Dominic Eastman, who is part of a social justice initiative called March for Our Lives to try and prevent future tragedy and bring awareness to the issue.

Carolyn Lien is a senior at East High School in Sioux City. She interned in the fall of 2021 through the Sioux City Community School District’s Career Academy. Lien is also an editor with CollegeGymNews.com. She writes articles and covers college gymnastic competitions. Carolyn graduates in May and aspires to work as a journalist someday.
