Today, I am recommending “The Maid” by author Nita Prose. Twenty-five-year-old Molly Gray is considered peculiar to most people. She is socially awkward and struggles to understand the body language and intentions of others. Her dear grandmother always helped her make sense of the world, but now her Gran has been gone for months and she must go it alone. What is most important to Molly is her position as maid at the prestigious Regency Grand Hotel. Molly is the ideal employee. Each day she takes pride in her crisp maid’s uniform, impeccable etiquette with hotel guests, and her ability to return each guest suite to an absolute state of perfection.

Molly’s life is predictable and orderly until one day, when she enters the guest suite of a frequent hotel client and finds the room in disarray. There, she finds the wealthy and infamous Mr. Black lying dead in the bedroom. This is one mess that Molly is unable to clean up on her own. Molly is precise in telling the police exactly what she found, but police find Molly’s unusual demeanor and lack of social skills suspicious and consider her a prime suspect in the case. Molly finds herself unsure of whom she can trust. Friends and coworkers Molly never knew cared for her unite to defend her and help solve this whodunit-style mystery.
