Mayor Scott and Newly-Elected Council Member Schoenherr Take the Oath of Office

The start of the new year also brought a change to the Sioux City Council.  Siouxland Public Media’s Sheila Brummer reports.

On Thursday, January 2nd, 2020  a few city leaders took the oath of office at City Hall in downtown Sioux City.

Mayor Bob Scott was sworn in for a third consecutive term. 

Also, new to the council, the owner of SoHo Kitchen and Bar, Julie Schoenherr.

Schoenherr beat incumbent Rhonda Capron in November.

“Thank you for trusting in me those who voted for me and a special thanks for everyone who helped me run for this office.”

Mayor Bob Scott also thanked his family for their dedication during his three decades in public service.

Mayor Scott also provided Schoenherr with some quick advice and words of support.

Mayor Scott also chose Dan Moore to continue his duties as Mayor Pro Tem. 

Alex Waters and Pete Groetken round out the rest of the members of the Sioux City Council.
