Democratic Candidate for President and former U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development and San Antonio Mayor,  Julian Castro, visited Sioux City on Sunday, November 24, 2019. 

Castro served as a member of President Obama's cabinet from 2014 to 2017.

Castro first stopped by the Siouxland Pride Alliance at the First Unitarian Church on Jackson Street. 

He addressed issues impacting the LGBTQ Community and answered questions.

He talked about housing, immigration, and his priorities for his first 100 days in office.  Plus, he addressed recent statements he made concerning the “first in the nation” Iowa Caucuses. 

Castro also attended a campaign event at Morningside College on Sunday night after stopping in Storm Lake earlier in the day.
