This week on The Exchange, we hear from Siouxlanders who have lost loved ones to COVID-19 as they gather in downtown Sioux City for a memorial Monday evening.  Also, we hear from Ike Rayford, president of the Sioux City Chapter of the NAACP about some of the friends he has lost to the coronavirus pandemic.

Also we remember Siouxland's Rick Mullin, who co-founded the Sioux City International Film Festival.  He died unexpectedly at the end of February.

As the state legislature goes into the second half of it's 2021 session, we talk about schedule for redistricting.  The process that lawmakers address every ten years has been delayed this year because 2020 census figures are delayed as well. We talk with Wendy Underhill of the National Council of State Legislatures about redistricting and moves by Iowa and other states to cut back on early voting.

Also we talk with astronomer and author Giles Sparrow about his new book, A History of the Universe in 21 Stars (and 3 Imposters).  Sparrow says looking at these stars can tell us a lot about how the universe works. I spoke with Sparrow from his office in London.
