"So many professional musicians put down people who play bebop or stick to a certain kind of genre of language like you're not innovating, but I just think it's like a great writer doesn't need to invent a new language to express something new and different. I kind of look at it that way. Learn the language and then figure out how you want to use it to best express yourself."
