A few years ago, Matthew E. White and his crew formed a production company and studio in Richmond, Va., and called the enterprise Spacebomb. White and Spacebomb's first album, 2012's Big Inner, was produced primarily as a demo to showcase the group's strengths.
Throughout the record, horns, strings and backing vocals are all included in service to a variety of styles. Big Inner was a critical smash, and sent White and his music all over the globe. His new album, Fresh Blood, continues in the same vein; here, White and his band join World Cafe in the studio to play its songs live.
