The Documentary, "Growing Magic: The Mickey Mouse Cornfield Story," was written and produced by Buena Vista digital media students. It tells the story of a card formed in a cornfield for Mickey Mouse's birthday in the year of 1988.

The documentary was worked on for the past three years and upon it's premiere, Siouxland Public Media spoke with teacher and Disney fanatic, Jerry Johnson. Siouxland Public Media also had the chance to speak with two of his students, Olivia Weisler and Mason Mcgrew. They discuss parts of the story and share details of the production.

Authorities are trying to find a Sioux City man suspected of shooting to death two people at their home in southeast Nebraska.  The victims were the parents of his former live-in girlfriend.

36-year-old Brindar Jangir is charged with two counts of first-degree murder for the deaths of Randal and Annette Grimes on Saturday.  

Court records say Jangir threatened to kill his girlfriend and her parents if she ever left him.  The girlfriend moved out on March 12th.

Two theaters are closing out shows this weekend, LAMB teams up with us here at SPM for a one-night-only radio edition of A Christmas Carol. The Art Center has a preview reception for ARTcetera they're making hay at Vangarde Arts and those aren't boo's you're hearing at the Orpheum, it's the audience chanting "ZUILL! ZUILL!"

It's a typical December Cultural Continuum with loads of Christmas specials and theater offerings. The Art Center opens up the Gilchrist Learning Center, a legendary singer/songwriter from Austin visits Vangarde and Santa can be spotted in any number of places.

Adrian welcomes Rachael K. today on FD4T. Rachel is Siouxland Public Media's Development Director and she has been working with the good folks at Diving Elk to put together a fun event for our upcoming FUNd drive. It's called Cheers to Sioux and you can find out more about it on this edition of Food For Thought.
