The House last week passed a $19 billion disaster aid bill that would deliver long-sought relief to farmers, victims of hurricanes and floods, and rebuild southern military bases, as Democrats try to dislodge the legislation from a Senate logjam over aid to hurricane-slammed Puerto Rico.

Today we hear about some efforts by the federal government, the air national Guard and a local solar power vendor to help those devastated in Puerto Rico in the aftermath of a hurricane in 2017.

 Lots of theater as SCCT and LAMB are both opening shows and Shot in the Dark closes one. USD Chamber Singers perform in Sioux City. The Rough and Tumble (folk) Rock the South Sioux City Public Library. And Six Appeal brings a rock and roll mentality to perform their a capella comedy at the Pearson Lakes Art Center.

If you want to see some theater, this might be your last chance for a bit, as Sioux City Community Theatre, LAMB, and Shot in the Dark are coming to the ends of their respective productions. The Grammy nominated, South Dakota Chorale plays Eppley, Mary Treglia has an open house and the Okoboji Winter Games finds a use for all that new snow and ice.
