More than two years have passed since the first presidential announcement, nearly $1 billion has been spent and numerous candidates have already come and gone.

A burst of last-minute campaigning hitting the state of Iowa this weekend.

On Friday, two top-tier candidates stumped for support in Sioux City.

First, at Western Iowa Tech Community College surrogates held an event for Massachusetts Senators Elizabeth Warren.   

A few dozen people listened to Congresswoman Katie Porter of California who is a native of Fort Dodge, Iowa and Iowa Democratic leader John Norris.

Then, South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg spoke to a crowd of about 200 at the Orpheum Theatre.

We talk with several of the Presidential Candidates who cut a swathe through Siouxland in the week before the 2020 First in the nation presidential caucuses.

Former Vice President Joe Biden is holding his lead in national polling just days ahead of the Iowa caucuses, but Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders is keeping the gap narrow.

Biden takes the top spot in the latest Quinnipiac University national poll with 26% support among Democrats and Democratic-leaning voters, up slightly from 25% in a Jan. 13 survey. 

Sanders rose to 21% in the latest tally, up from 19% two weeks ago and his highest tally so far in the poll.

The Democratic Candidates are cutting a swath through Iowa in the last few days before the Feb. 3rd presidential caucuses.   

Tomorrow, former Vice President Joe Biden will hold an event at Western Iowa Tech Community College.  He will appear at the Rocklin Center at 1:15 p.m.  A previous appearance by Biden earlier this month was canceled because of bad weather.

Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar will be in town Thursday.

The Democratic Candidates for president are making a last-minute push across the state of Iowa less than a week before the first-in-the-nation caucuses.

Former Vice President Joe Biden has been pushed out first place in the presidential race in Iowa by South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg.  According to the new Monmouth University Poll out today, Mayor Pete leads the Democratic presidential candidates in Iowa, ahead of the state’s first in the nation caucuses in February.

South Sioux City police officer Brian Van Berkum will face no criminal charges for his actions during a fatal May shootout.  A grand jury has ruled today that no charges will be filed, according to the Sioux City Journal.

Iowa’s unemployment rate went up very slightly in July, but it is still one of the lowest in the nation. Iowa Workforce Development says the July rate was 2.5, and for the previous 12 months the rate was 2.4 percent.
