LAMB Arts Regional Theatre

022520 404

The future home of Lamb Arts Regional Theatre is now a local landmark.

The Sioux City Council approved the designation.

Lamb is working to raise more than $11 million to restore the old city auditorium across from the Woodbury County Courthouse.

The designation, approved yesterday, now allows the building to be eligible for historic preservation tax credits from the state.

The Woodbury County Board of Supervisors meeting has been canceled for today.

That’s because there aren’t enough supervisors to hold a quorum of members.

The Exchange, Wednesday, February 19, and Friday, February 21.

February is Black History month, and we talk with one of the editors of a new book that contains first-person stories and photos of African Americans who were once enslaved.  The interviews were done by writers with the Works Progress Administration in the 1930s.

Also, a preview of a program at the Sioux City Public Museum this weekend where you can learn everything you need to know about the upcoming 2020 census that takes place April 1st.

Sean Grennan

"I'm trying to make sense of this thing we have, this life we do," Sean Grennan, author of Now and Then, tells us. The play, which is running through September 30th at Lamb Arts Regional Theatre, found its beginning when the word "enouement" caught Grennan's eye. As a young man, an unknown word like this may have caused pause, a slight stumble, perhaps, in a brisk walk. In his early 60's, though, it was full stop.
