King Bee and the Stingers has been around since 2006 but they were just kind of another band until guitarist Mark Menefee decided to hire his daughter, Sarah on to front the band. Since then they've been piling up accolades and they've made the semi-finals in the past two International Blues Challenges. Also The Reverend Shawn Amos packs the Mudbug Brass Band around his kitchen table and we'll hear a radio hit from The Record Company.
If you saw Dustin Arbuckle recently in either of his two stops at Vangarde Arts with either of his bands; well, he's on the show. Plus we have a new album from Big Joe and the Dynaflows. John Mayall too has put together a really nice new album too called Nobody Told Me. We're letting you know that you can hear a bit of that toward the end of this podcast.
Dashboard Jesus sends us into this edition of the Ten O'clock Blues. Along the way we'll also hear from Tedeschi Trucks Band, Ina Forsman and we'll hear a little bit from Iowan and International Blues Challenge winner, Kevin Burt.
We've got two Iowan's in our first set, which is a first for the TOB! Catfish Keith casts our line into the show this time and a few minutes later we'll hear from a very fine new album from fellow Iowa City-an Kevin Burt. Millington Tennesee's Bobby Blue Bland and Kenny Wayne Shepherd out of Shreveport Louisiana come along to crash our Hawkeye party.
