There are still evacuations going in Madison, South Dakota because of flooding. It has received 3 to 5 inches of rain in the latest storm. The South Dakota Highway Patrol says flooding closed a section of Interstate 90 near Mitchell.   And in Sioux Falls, residents and business owners are cleaning up after destructive tornadoes and straight-line winds earlier this week. Crews today were removing fallen trees and debris.

A new report has found Iowa has the seventh-highest obesity rate in the nation.

About 230 thousand Iowans could lose health coverage in 2019 if the Affordable Care Act is repealed without an adequate replacement, according to a new report. Siouxland Public Media’s Mary has more.

bill that would allow individuals to buy contraceptive pills

Iowans Still Signing Up for Obamacare

There are more Iowans signing up for Obamacare this fall than at the same time last year.  That’s despite President-elect Donald Trump's pledge to repeal the program.  Siouxland Public Media’s Mary Hartnett has this report.

The Des Moines Register reports that, as of Wednesday, slightly more than 12-thousand Iowans had signed up for new or renewed policies on the government’s health-insurance exchange since Nov. 1st. That’s compared to 11,811 during the same time last year.
