Sioux City Democratic State Representative Chris Hall Says He Won't Run for Office in 2022

Sioux City State Representative Chris Hall (D)

Sioux City Democratic State Rep. Chris Hall announced this afternoon that he will be retiring at the end of 2022, according to a press release. Hall first won office in 2010.

While in the legislature, the press release noted that Hall worked on: pushing for localization of the Iowa Reinvestment Act to help redevelop downtown Sioux City, providing service-disabled veterans additional support when starting or growing their small business, getting Lyft and Uber to Sioux City, and keeping the Targeted Jobs program authorized.

The last of those is intended to help Iowa keep pace with neighboring states in the job market by allowing qualifying businesses in border cities like Sioux City to apply for state withholding tax credits to relocate or expand in Iowa.
