Veterans Day in Siouxland: The Exchange

The Exchange this week commemorates Veterans Day.

We talk with Mary Jordan, the director of the Sioux City Vet Center. The center is a clearinghouse for a wide range of services for military personnel.

Also, we learn about the non-profit Support Siouxland Soldiers organization. The volunteer organization reaches out to servicemen and women overseas and their families here in Siouxland.

We hear from veterans and their families about their feelings on this Veterans Day.

We also hear the stories of two World War II veterans who left behind legacies of honor and bravery. One served as a journalist behind the lines in Normandy during the D-Day invasion. The other veteran is remembered by his son in a piece called, "My Father's Flag."

The grave of Donald Protexter

Also, we hear from the Morningside College Marching Band, and find out how the band is performing safely during the Coronavirus pandemic.
