The Sioux City Art Center recently held a grand reopening on September 28, 2019 to show the public the newly renovated facility and feature the new Gilcrest Learning Center.
Part of the renovation includes an updated “Hands on! Gallery”.
The Junior League of Sioux City was instrumental in opening the gallery back in 1997.
Junior League Committee Chair for the “Hands on! Gallery” Rhonda Henry showed Siouxland Public Media’s Sheila Brummer (who is also a Junior League member) around the children’s attraction that is already attracting a young crowd.
The “Hands on! Gallery” is free and open to the public during business hours at the Art Center at 225 Nebraska Street in Sioux City.
The Junior League donated more than $80,000 to the project and secured other organization and donors to help out with the cost of the renovation.
The Junior League also updated the space back ten-years ago.
