More help is on the way for more residents impacted by flooding in Woodbury County. A team from FEMA started going door-to-door today in Sioux City after assisting residents of Hornick.

“Anyone that was affected by the groundwater that we received on Wednesday the 13th as well as any of the flooding countywide. // Or, any county that was declared presidentially for individual assistance, including Monona County can apply for individual assistance.

Flood victims can also go to the website disasterassistance.gov or call 1 (800) 621-FEMA to sign up for assistance. FEMA team members will go door-to-door from 8 am until 6 pm.

Sioux City’s Southbridge Business Park is the 25thsite to be named in the Iowa Certified Site Program. In Sioux City yesterday morning, Iowa Economic Development Authority Director
Debbie Durham said the program helps sites become project ready.
Durham said the project would be impossible without local efforts, that also helped bring Seaboard Foods to town.

"You have pooled your resources and are now poised to reap benefits. I do not doubt that I will be back soon for a groundbreaking. In fact, if you think about it, your last certified site you were in the final process of certifying when you actually sold the site to Seaboard."
Sioux City Mayor Bob Scott yesterday said shovel ready sites are crucial for economic development.
The 120-acre site is in the Southbridge Business Park, between Interstate 29 and the Missouri River.
