Many Iowa farmers are finding out how much money they’ll get from the federal government’s second round of payments, to help them weather ongoing trade disputes.
Unlike last year, row-crop farmers will get payments based on their county, not the specific crop they planted.
County rates are calculated by the U.S. Department of Agriculture depending on how large of an area was lost due to reduced exports. The payments range from 15 to 150 dollars per acre.
The USDA also has increased the amount a farmer can get from the payouts … up to 500-thousand dollars if eligible for payments in two or three categories.
The Iowa Board of Medicine has taken action against a Sioux City plastic surgeon.
A hearing is scheduled for October for Dr. Adam Smith.
The board alleges Dr. Smith failed to provide appropriate surgical care to seventeen patients between December of 2014 to September of 2017.
Jena Reyes of Sioux City tells Siouxland Public Media News she is one of those patients.

Reyes says she underwent a tummy tuck in August of 2017 to try and fix lower abdominal pain experienced after childbirth.
Reyes says she looked disfigured after the procedure and then battled a major infection for several months.
Dr. Adam Smith says he looks forward to defending his practice.
