Sen. Grassley Won't Even Guess at When China Trade War Will Be Resolved, 5:04

This afternoon, former Vice President and Democratic Presidential candidate Joe Biden was in Le Mars talking about his approach to improving health care and insurance coverage for all Americans.

Yesterday, Biden unveiled a plan that would add a "public option" to the 2010 health care overhaul known as "Obamacare," with expanded coverage paid for by raising taxes on the wealthiest Americans. Biden hopes his positioning as Obamacare's chief defender helps him on several fronts.   Biden will be in Sioux City tonight at Country Celebrations.  The event begins at 6:00 p.m.

The ongoing trade war with China shows little indication of wrapping up, even with negotiators back at the table. Iowa Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley says he’s not putting stock in rumors or predictions about when an agreement might be reached.

With it breaking up in May when it did, when I thought we were at the 10-yard line getting an agreement, expecting something to be signed late May or early June down in Florida at the president’s estate, now I’m going to be very careful about being positive about things coming out.

Both countries’ economies are feeling the pain from tariffs, Grassley says, but the whole world will ultimately benefit from a resolution.

A company has moved call center operations into Sioux City from a facility in Dakota Dunes, South Dakota.

The Sioux City Journal reports that the Mass Markets center just east of the Sioux Gateway Airport already has about 300 workers, up from the 150-175 employed in Dakota Dunes.
