SC Requiring Facemasks in Public Buildings, Mass Transit

Woodbury County today has 15 new cases of COVID-19.  The Siouxland District Health Department says the additional cases are from 179 tests reported yesterday.

According to the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH), as of this morning,  there are a total of 3,561 positive cases of COVID-19 in the county. SDH says there are no new virus-related deaths, meaning the death toll stands  at 47.

Iowa public health officials say the state has 421 new cases of the Coronavirus since yesterday. The state has a total of 42, 357 cases and 829 deaths. 

Nebraska health officials announced 224 new cases for a total 24,618 cases and 316 deaths. There were no new deaths.  Dakota County has had 1,850 cases. Thurston County had 196 cases,

South Dakota had tallied 8,395 cases: and 123 deaths. There were no new deaths. 

Total cases include 175 in Union County, 106 in Clay County and 100 in Yankton County. Yankton and Union counties have each recorded two deaths. 

Sioux City officials have decided to require masks or face coverings while in city buildings. 

According to a city press release, in an effort to stop the spread of the Coronavirus, a new mask requirement goes into effect Wednsday. City officials say some sort of mask or face covering will be required by members of the public whenever they go into a city building.

Also on Wednesday, Sioux City Transit passengers will be required to wear protective masks or face coverings on buses until further notice.
