Oromo Community Continues Peaceful Protesting in the Aftermath of Famous Singer's Killing

A group of more than 100 members of the Oromo community took part in another march to protest the killing of a famous singer.

They gathered this morning at a park near the Mary J. Treglia Community house with flags and signs before heading to the Federal Courthouse in downtown Sioux City.

They demand for justice for Hachalu Hundessa who was murdered and for other Oromo leaders who have been jailed.

Another peaceful protest took place on July 1st.  Today, Ethiopia’s attorney general says two men confessed to killing the singer as part of a plot to topple the Prime Minister’s government.  Police in the country say 240 people have been killed by recent unrest.
