SPM’s Gretchen Gondek speaks with Tracy Bennett from Siouxland Civic Dance about the Holiday Spectacular, happening this Saturday at 3 p.m. The event will be held at the Orpheum Theatre and features over one-hundred performers in holiday songs, verse, and dance. This year a living nativity will be staged as well as the classic “Parade of the Wooden Soldiers.”
Siouxland Civic Dance Association is offering the "Gift of Dance" to at-risk middle school children. The project is made possible by the Gilchrist Foundation and offers an opportunity for 50 children to receive instruction in classroom technique, etiquette and performance skills.
The Morningside College Piano Recital Series will return with a performance for piano and cello Saturday evening at 7:30 in Eppley Auditorium. Gretchen talks with the pianist, Shichao Zhang and the cellist, Stephanie March, who met their freshman year of college at the Eastman School.
