Joe Biden is taking an aggressive approach to defending the Affordable Care Act, challenging not just President Donald Trump but also some of his Democratic nomination challangers who want to replace the current insurance system with a fully government-run model.

The former vice president will spend much of the coming week talking about his approach to health care.

On Monday, Biden released a plan that would add a "public option" to the 2010 health care overhaul, with expanded coverage paid for by raising taxes on the wealthiest Americans.

Several democratic candidates, including Biden will be in Siouxland this week for several events including Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren, New Jersey Senator Cory Booker, Marriane Williamson, Former Texas Congessman Beto O’Rourke, Andrew Yang and Congressman Julian Castro of Texas  .

Yesterday, ten of the candidates took the stage at the Progress Iowa Corn Feed in Cedar Rapids.  Only South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg received a standing ovation with the crowd of more than 1,100 who turned out for the annual event.
