This afternoon, the Woodbury County Board of Supervisors will vote on building authority for a new jail and law enforcement center.

Yesterday, the Sioux City Council unanimously voted to support the authority.  It would oversee the $49 million dollar project.

The public would still need to approve the new facility.  It is expected to go before voters in Woodbury County in March.

A send-off this morning for the Morningside Mustangs.

The football team left this morning for Louisiana to play in the NAIA football National Championship game.

The Mustangs won the championship last year in Florida.  This time around they take on Marian University from Indianapolis, Indiana.

“This is just an awesome team.  I can’t be more proud of Steve Ryan and the coaching staff and all of the young men.  They represent the college so well.”

That’s John Reynders, the President of Morningside College .

Kickoff for the Morningside Mustangs takes place this Saturday at 6pm in Grambling, Louisiana.

A Siouxland steakhouse is receiving more national attention.

The owner of Archie’s Waeside Inn in Le Mars, Bob Rand, appeared on Fox Business News this week.

“We've had a lot of great things going for us, and one of them is the greatest cattle in the country are raised right here in northwest Iowa and northeast Nebraska,”

Rand’s grandfather founded Archie’s Waeside a couple of generations ago.  He was the son of Russian immigrants and worked in the stockyards of Chicago and Sioux City before opening the restaurant in 1949.

“We’ve had fantastic, loyal employees for 70 years that treat Archie’s like family.  We've just been very fortunate to have a very loyal customer following.”

The host of Fox Business news called Archie’s Waeside one of the best steakhouses in the world.
