Another five people with COVID-19 have died in Iowa, and there have been an additional 213 confirmed cases, the state reported today.
The state was reporting 712 COVID-19-related deaths, an increase of five since the state's tally yesterday, according its Coronavirus.Iowa.gov website.
Today there are 28,941 confirmed cases of COVID-19, an increase of 213 since yesterday.
Six more cases of the virus were recorded in Woodbury County today. There have been 43 deaths attributed to COVID-19.
In their daily joint release, MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center and UnityPoint Health -- St. Luke's said they are caring for a combined 23 patients for COVID-19-related illnesses.
The statement also said that, effective tomorrow, the hospitals will no longer be reporting their daily COVID-19 census.
Nebraska has more than 19,000 cases of the coronavirus and269 deaths. The state had an additional 243 cases today.
Another Dakota County resident has died due to the novel coronavirus.
The Dakota County Health Department announced the Northeast Nebraska county's 35th COVID-19-related death yesterday, along with 14 new cases of the virus. Dakota County's case total now stands at 1,761,
South Dakota today has 6,716 cases of the coronavirus, including an additional 35 cases today.
New York, New Jersey and Connecticut have added Iowa to a list of states covered by an advisory that requires travelers to self-quarantine for 14 days upon arrival.
