Survivors of clergy abuse are responding to investigation findings from the Iowa Attorney General's Office. The investigation revealed three active clergy members had been accused of abuse. But the allegations fell outside the criminal statute of limitations. The Survivors Network of Those Abused by Priests, or SNAP, wants the Catholic Church to disclose the names of the accused clergy.

Michael McDonnell is the communication manager and a survivor himself. He says publishing those names will help other survivors.

"When news of the subject matter comes forward, it really starts to hit home with individuals so that they somehow find the courage and the strength to come forward."

McDonnell says SNAP appreciates the Attorney General's efforts but wants more immediate action from the Catholic Church.

Governor Kim Reynolds says that Iowa State Patrol officers will be deployed to the U.S. Southern Border to aid law enforcement and border security efforts. The governor is responding to a request from Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Arizona Governor Doug Ducey. Reynolds said the rise in drugs, human trafficking, and violent crime has become unsustainable.
