Fridays on the Promenade Becomes Dowtown Live

Downtown Live 051917

“Fridays on the Promenade” will continue this summer as “Downtown Live.” This 12th season of the musical series will be held on Thursday evenings.  This year’s chairperson Reagan Cody made the announcement yesterday at the Sioux City Public Museum.  She says the venue was changed for practical reasons.

“It is no longer on Fridays and it is no longer on The Promenade.. The Promenade is getting new greenspace enhancements, so during their construction, we’ll be outside here at the Sioux City Public Museum on Thursday nights from 5:30-to-7:30”

Cody says they made the change to Thursdays to give people who couldn’t make it on Fridays a change to enjoy the event.  She says there will also be food trucks at Downtown Live.

“And so there’s going to be six food trucks that join us that evening. They are going to be Dakota Newby’s for barbeque, Leaf Grill and Walkeree, Cruisin’ Kettlecorn, Sweet Treats, Heartland Coffee and Nosh, and Tacos del Gordo, so you’ll have a wide selection of things to choose from right after work.”

There are several bands scheduled to perform for the series that begins June 1st.  They include Brian Setzer and the Stray Cats, The Prairie Cats, Scott Ellison, the Bishops, Shawn Holt and the Dewdrops, the Giving Tree Band, and the NADAS.

Downtown Live on Thursdays will run from June 1st to July 27, from 5:30 to 7:30 in front of the Sioux City Public Museum.
