THE EXCHANGE 7.7.21: The Sounds and Solidarity of Saturday in the Park 2021

Thousands of people gathered at Grandview Park in Sioux City, Iowa on July 2-3, 2021 to watch more than 20 artists on two different stages after a year off due to COVID-19.

Saturday in the Park brought a chance for performers to finally play in front of a live audience after the intensity of the pandemic.

Veterans and new fans alike enjoyed fun under a warm sun with diverse music, unity, and solidarity.

The following show chronicles two days of music and memories with recording captured by Siouxland Public Media’s Sheila Brummer with almost 30 interviews and 15 live performances.

The first day of the festival attracted an estimated 15,000 people. The second day brought even a bigger crowd of around 25,000 for headliner John Fogerty on the main stage and Waka Flocka Flame on the Abe Stage, the Kids Zone and more.
