The Food Bank of Siouxland's Empty Bowls Event is Tonight
The Food Bank of Siouxland's Empty Bowls event moves to the Sioux City Convention Center, also a snow scamper in Plymouth County, Qigong at the Dorothy Pecaut Nature Center and Jazz, Jazz and more Jazz!
Shelby Pierce joins Steve on this February 1st, Cultural Continuum. Lots of Jazz, a Conservatory recital at Vangarde, the Empty Bowls moves into the Sioux City Convention Center.
Broomball, fireworks, chili, something called mega snow pong and big ol' kites just a few of the many activities going on at the Lakes this weekend. Last chance to see Aladdin Jr. at LAMB and Rumors at Sioux City Community Theatre plus Lil' Red and the Medicated Moose drop a CD.
Most of the listening region is under either a Winter Weather Advisory or a Winter Storm Warning so obviously be careful and all events are subject to change, but there's a Farce at Sioux City Community Theatre and Aladdin Jr. at LAMB, Chad Elliott is busy in Cherokee and Book People welcomes "Marcher, Walker, Pilgrim" Ed Fallon.
The South Dakota Chorale, fresh off a several Grammy nominations for thier recent Tyberg album, perform the Rachmaninoff Vespers at the Cathedral. Vangarde Arts has several shows, Sioux City Community Theatre opens the new year with a farce and The Sioux County Oratorio Chorus is looking for singers for The Messiah.
Two theaters are closing out shows this weekend, LAMB teams up with us here at SPM for a one-night-only radio edition of A Christmas Carol. The Art Center has a preview reception for ARTcetera they're making hay at Vangarde Arts and those aren't boo's you're hearing at the Orpheum, it's the audience chanting "ZUILL! ZUILL!"
