Additional COVID-19 Cases in IA, NE, SD

Siouxland District Health confirms today that there are 14 new COVID-19 cases in Woodbury County.
The SDHD now reports there were 25 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. The SDHD also reported no additional virus-related deaths, keeping the county's death toll at 46. here have been 3,463 positive COVID-19 cases in the county.
 
The state of Iowa reports that another person with COVID-19 has died, and there have been an additional 343 confirmed cases since yesterday. 
At 10 a.m. today, the state reported 793 COVID-19-related deaths, an increase of one death since yesterday morning.
The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in South Dakota increased by 37 today, and no new deaths were reported.
 
South Dakota has a total of 7,943 COVID-19 cases, according to the state health department.
The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services reports 102 new cases of C19 today and a total of 22,583 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Nebraska. A total of 301 people have died from the coronavirus since the pandemic began.
 
Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has said that cities cannot mandate that its residents wear masks whenever they leave their homes.  Reynolds says only the state can issue such an order.  However, several Siouxland residents plan to approach the city council at its meeting this afternoon to ask for more support for mask-wearing. 
The city council meeting begins at 4:00 p.m. in the council chambers on Sixth Street. And a group of concerned citizens will attend the first meeting of the Sioux City school board that's been open to the public since March to talk about requiring masks in schools.  That meeting begins at 6:00 p.m. in the Educational Service Center on Fourth Street.
