This week on The Exchange we preview the Western Iowa Tech Community College event The Power of Hair Expo. The second annual event encourages attendees to explore their hair styles, model those styles and reflect how changing one’s hair style can be liberating and empowering.

I spoke with LaShawna Moyle, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Coordinator at Western Iowa Tech, about the Expo. Moyle says she was inspired to create the expo by some of her own hair experiences.

Also, how the local chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace draws volunteers from around Siouxland to build and deliver beds for children who need them.

Jim Schaap presents another Small Wonder. Today, Schaap recalls the athletic power of Hank Aaron, who broke the home run record of Babe Ruth and fought racism on and off the field.
