Tonight see horror, sci-fi, and fantasy films at the Sioux City Public Museum as part of the Siouxland Film Festival. Tomorrow, the open category and winning films will be shown at the Orpheum Theatre.

  Western Iowa Tech Community College was recently declared a Blue Zones area.  Students, faculty and employees are flocking to the college’s Dunker Student Center to sign up for opportunities in a facility that offers state-of-the-art equipment with computers and televisions, a full-sized gymnasium, indoor track, weight room, and classes such as yoga, super circuits, spinning, Zumba and Taekwondo.

     Precious and April are our guests on Welcome. Sit. Stay. He, Precious, is 8 and never betrays his gentleman's disposition. April is 13, dressed in a tuxedo, and enjoys being mischievous. Gretchen speaks with Christina Luther, Girls Services Manager for Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa, about Girl Scout Cookies, icons of American culture for the past 100 years.  Selling cookies helps girls develop valuable life skills and make their communities a better place. Did you know there are only 2 bakeries licensed to make Girl Scout Cookies? One of them is Interbake (located right here in Siouxland!).  

The Siouxland Film Festival has been revamped. This year there will be three days of films! The art house and foreign films will be shown at the Sioux City Art Center on Thursday; the horror, sci-fi, and fantasy films will be shown at the Sioux City Public Museum on Friday; and, the open category and winning films will be shown at the Orpheum Theatre on Saturday.

Briar Cliff University presents Entrepalooza 2015, February 18th through the 26th. Events occurring through the week include a consulting fair, the Innovation Grow Market, and the Swimming with the Sharks entrepreneurs’ pitching contest. Briar Cliff's Judy Thompson joined Steve Smith.

Today our dog is a cat - a cat named Kitty. She hath drunketh from the milk bowl of youth, looking more like a, well, a kitty, than the 11 year old cat she actually is. But in those 11 years, she has learned to be eternally sweet, a perfect Valentine. Find her at the Siouxland Humane Society.  

Jolie Corder E.D. of  NPI (New Perspectives Inc.) joins Gretchen and John Donovan (Jumpy Monkey Coffee) to talk up their new partnership. 

 This coming week Entrepalooza 2015 kicks off, bringing together experienced business professionals and hungry young idea-people. Events include speed networking, a job fair, and the Swimming with the Sharks Competition. This has become one of Siouxland's most exciting events, and one of its most inspired ways of ensuring our community's future vibrancy.
