Authorities are trying to find a Sioux City man suspected of shooting to death two people at their home in southeast Nebraska.  The victims were the parents of his former live-in girlfriend.

36-year-old Brindar Jangir is charged with two counts of first-degree murder for the deaths of Randal and Annette Grimes on Saturday.

Court records say Jangir threatened to kill his girlfriend and her parents if she ever left him.  The girlfriend moved out on March 12th.

Rain storms expected later this week could lead to another crest along the Missouri River and its tributaries just as residents are cleaning up from this spring's flooding.

The National Weather Service hydrologist says more than an inch of rain is expected to fall in Nebraska and Iowa later this week.  Sioux City has an 80% chance of rain for Friday.

The storms between Wednesday and Friday could create a 1-foot rise in the level of the Missouri River around Omaha and cities downstream starting next weekend.

But it's not yet clear how much additional flooding that rise could create.

Meanwhile, authorities in South Dakota are searching for two men missing after a garbage truck went into a flooded river.

Searchers returned Sunday to the James River about 15 miles north of Mitchell.

The men have been missing since Thursday.

Recent flooding in the Midwest is blamed in three confirmed deaths. In addition, two men in Nebraska have been missing for more than a week.   One from Norfolk, Nebraska the other lived near the Spencer Dam about 25 miles north of O’Neill.
