The Weather Bosses Predict a Cool Weekend

I’m Sammie Brown, and I’m Angel Espinoza, reporting Siouxland Public Media Weather from the Spalding Park Environmental Sciences Elementary School.

Today in Sioux City, expect clouds and a high of 59 and a low of 36. Saturday will be sunny and nice out with a high of 66 and low of 36. Sunday will bring heat and lots of sun, highs of 75 and lows of 44.

The Iowa Great Lakes will experience sunshine most of the weekend with highs in the mid-60s to low 70s. The lows will be in the upper 30s to low 40s

In my class we have been learning about tornados. They start when warm, humid air and cold, dry air mix and create pressure, and then a tornado forms. After the tornado passes, scientists use the Enhanced Fujita Scale from EF0 being the lowest and EF5 being the highest, or worst. When you hear the tornado sirens that doesn't always mean it's going to hit it is just when rotation is detected also known as a funnel cloud. And that's all about tornados!

I’m Sammie and Angel for Siouxland Public Media Weather.
