Live From Across the Pond
There's nothing more satisfying than hearing a spot-on live rendition of your favorite band's best work. On this episode of the B-Sides with Bolin and Blumberg, we collect a number of great live performances of our favorites from across the pond.
We start off with a trio of bands hitting the mark. There's Status Quo from its last concert featuring the group's original members. Then, there's UFO featuring Michael Schenker on lead guitar and the 70's band, Sweet, performing a gig in 2008.
Next, we get into the cream of British guitarists. Eric Clapton performs alongside Steve Windwood at Madison Square Garden, and Jimmy Page with the Black Crowes, and, arguably the best live gig cd, Live at the Greek.
Rory Gallaher just had a previously unreleased 1977 concert from England issued on disc. It's called Check Shirt Wizard, and we hear two cuts, Secret Agent and Used to Be.
Finally, a live cut of Faces doing Bad N' Ruin, and former member Ronnie Lane wrapping things up with Ooh La La. The band’s cut is from a live BBC radio concert, while Lane's song is from a public radio concert recorded in Austin, Texas.
So gather round the radio and feel the audience rock with music you'll only hear on one local venue, Siouxland Public Media
