The Lee Sides - The Axe Styles of Albert and Alvin Lee

You actually might want to call this show, The Lee Sides, as Johnnie and I have put together a must hear sample of these two remarkable British axe men who have cemented their place among the best.

Both Albert and Alvin Lee started their careers in the late 60's. Albert began playing in three groups at the same time, playing for Heads, Hands and Feet, Black Claw, and Country Fever. Alvin began with Ten Years After, who vaulted to fame with its performance at Woodstock of "Going Home". The song is featured here, but it’s from Alvin's last show as he died shortly thereafter at the end of 2012.

The B-Sides also features two Ten Year After cuts and some of his solo works which range from rock to rockabilly to blues.

Speaking of transitions, Albert Lee began his career (still active, by the way) with rockabilly and rock and eased his way into rockabilly and country.

On this B-Sides with Bolin and Blumberg, you'll hear "That's All Right Mama", "Country Boy" and "Luxury Liner" among others including some rare live stuff.

So, if you dig snappy lead guitar players, settle in and listen to these two Lee guitarists play their strings and hearts out only here on the best place to rock, Siouxland Public Media.
