The annual Sgt. Floyd Weekend will contain a wide variety of free, family-friendly events. A special reception with music and refreshments will be held Friday at 4 pm. The festivities will run in conjunction with the Sgt. Floyd River Boat & Welcome Center’s encampment weekend. • Saturday, Aug. 20 from 12 – 4 pm: Outdoor yard games for the whole family
• Saturday, Aug. 20 at 1 pm: “Captain’s Telescope” craft (first 50 kids)
• Saturday, Aug. 20 at 6 pm: Floyd Burial Memorial by Sgt. Floyd Honor Guard Reenactors held at the Sgt. Floyd Monument (lawn chairs recommend) (2601 S. Lewis Blvd, Sioux City, IA 51103)
• Saturday, Aug. 20 at 7 - 8 pm: Jack & Mike Langley’s will be in concert on the Center’s grounds-bring your lawn chairs

• Sunday, Aug 21 at 12 – 1:30 pm: Archery demonstration and tutorial with Andrew Roelfs of Sioux Center
• Sunday, Aug. 21 at 1 pm: “Mini Tents” craft (first 50 kids)
• Sunday, Aug. 21 at 2 pm: “Around Sioux City” historical postcards presented by Dave Bishop (reception to follow)
