Pete Yorn: Beyond The Silver Screen

Pete Yorn has taken a different route to fame than most musicians. After moving to L.A. to write music for film and television, Yorn played small gigs around the city. Based on the strength of these performances, he was approached to write music for the Jim Carrey film Me, Myself & Irene. His song "Strange Condition" made it on the soundtrack, and fans responded well. Demand for the song drove it to the charts, creating a buzz around the young songwriter.

By the end of 2001, Yorn had made it onto several "Artists To Watch" lists following the release of his debut, musicforthemorningafter. Yorn went on to release several more records, including 2003's Day I Forgot and 2006's Nightcrawler.

Yorn released two albums this summer, starting with Back & Fourth in late June. For that record, Yorn wanted to shed his "teenage" image and sound, instead focusing on a darker, more grown-up vibe. Still, Back & Fourth showcases the accessible and emotionally charged songwriting that fans have come to expect. His latest release is Break Up, a duets album with actress and singer Scarlett Johansson.
