The Sioux City Journal reports the new deal was signed Monday. It allows AmeriHealth Caritas Iowa members’ continued access to Mercy Health Network’s owned hospitals, clinics and other health care services and facilities.  Mercy owns and operates eight medical centers and other services in Sioux City – Clinton, Des Moines, Dubuque, Mason City and Waterloo/Cedar Falls. Mercy also operates community hospitals in seven other locations in Iowa and surrounding states, including the joint-venture Dunes Surgical Center. IA Health Link serves the majority of the state’s Medicaid population, or about 560,000 Iowans, through select managed care plans.  For Siouxland Public Media, I’m Mary Hartnett.
